A man was arrested Wednesday in Chicago after authorities in the area say he had bought and sold Viagra in the city in a drug store called “Cadbaugh”.
Robert D. "Big" Dickey, 48, of Madison, Ill., was charged with one count of trafficking in counterfeit goods and two counts of trafficking in contraband goods.
The police department said Dickey, who has a criminal history of two felony charges, was charged with three counts of trafficking in counterfeit goods. He was also arrested after a warrant was granted Wednesday and is expected to appear in Illinois state court.
A search of the store, which is open Monday, showed the name "Cadbaugh" with a "Cadbaugh" logo on it.
The Food and Drug Administration has approved the drug to treat erectile dysfunction.
It's a medication that's used to treat a variety of different conditions, including pulmonary arterial hypertension, high blood pressure in the lungs, and certain types of cancer.
It's available as an over-the-counter drug but the FDA has not approved it for sale in the United States.
The drug has been on the market for more than three decades.

Pfizer Inc. said on Monday that it was reviewing the case and "providing further information as required by law."
The case is being investigated by U. S. Attorney Michael Cohen, who is handling the case.

The investigation is continuing as authorities continue to investigate and identify the individuals who sold the drugs, who allegedly received a warning from the FDA about counterfeit goods, and who were arrested.
Dickey has pleaded not guilty to trafficking in the drug, and has been ordered to pay $50,000 in restitution to the State of Illinois.
According to court documents filed in the case, Dickey received the prescription drug Viagra from a friend at the drug store where he was buying it.
The pharmacist then told Dickey that he could not take Viagra because it was for "herbal erectile dysfunction."
He also told Dickey he had "a lot of money" to "keep the house going" and he was "going to try and keep this stuff going" when he would have to pay for Viagra himself.
The FDA has not said whether Dickey has ever purchased anything from the drug.
In 2009, the FDA issued a warning about the dangers of using prescription drugs like Viagra to treat erectile dysfunction. The warning included information about the possible adverse effects of sildenafil, a drug used to treat erectile dysfunction.
In 2013, the FDA added a warning to Viagra, but the agency said it did not follow up on the information.

A recent study has shown that Viagra and the Pfizer-maker may have increased the chances of developing heart disease, the results of the National Prevention Study (NPS) showed today.
The NPS is an observational study that includes more than 1,300 men between the ages of 18 and 70, conducted between 1998 and 2010, from England and the UK.
The NPS found that men with an erectile dysfunction were more likely to develop the condition, compared with men without the disorder, the study authors said.
The men who took Viagra or sildenafil had a significantly higher risk of developing the condition compared to those who did not take the drugs.
Men who used sildenafil to treat erectile dysfunction had a 10% higher risk of developing the condition compared to those who did not use the drugs.
The NPS also found that Viagra and Viagra Connect increased the risk of heart attack and stroke by 25% and by 37%, respectively, compared with those who did not use the drugs.
